Biography

Mansour Fakoor began his life in small town Rasht, north of Iran on June 3rd 1938. He was born into a traditional large family. His father's strict philosophies in life lead Mansour Fakoor to learn and explore a lot of his talent and creativity solely on his own. Mansour Fakoor had a desire to draw since his childhood. His assertive personality made him to follow his passion since he was six years old. His childhood drawings were mostly by charcoal on walls and brick floorings of their garden where no one could view.
He pursued his passion into drawing and painting portraits in his late teens at Art academy of Kamalolmolk in Tehran. He graduated at the age of twenty and started his career as an artist in Tehran.
His portraits and paintings with impeccable details show his creations were impacted by many old masters of art. His art devoted itself to the visible world both by bringing out the concept of form and its harmonious interrelation.
Mansour Fakoor's many activities in the world of art lead him to establishing Fakoor's school of art were many contemporary artist were trained in Tehran. His appearances as an exhibitor in Iran and Europe began in 1962, which lead to a great exposure in both Iran and many other European countries were Queen Farah Pahlavi and other Austrian royal families visited him in 1970's Mansour Fakoor's artwork were

 

exhibited and sold in by Otto Gallery, one of the renowned galleries in Europe. His last appearance took place in Stanford university museum in 1987, where a lot of his work were admired and purchased by the local art connoisseur.
Mansour Fakoor expanded his horizons and established his first art gallery in Los Angeles in late 1980's. He was pursuing the second chapter of his art career, where his mystical hands and all his talent faded through the clouds on April 4th 1992.
